Long Awaited – FHA Approves e-Signatures

January 30th, 2014 No comments

It was announced today that the FHA will now accept e-Signatures. Industry pundits have said that the entire electronic real estate and mortgage transaction has been stalled to almost to a complete halt without this FHA buy-in. (E-Sign Act, June 2000)

Settleware has been advocating such advances and pioneering the effort since the late 90′s (and we have the arrows in the back to prove it)..this announcement will be well received by all Industry stakeholders, especially the consumer who has been needlessly inconvenienced, and will now open the path to e-Mortgage adoption.

Settleware Partners with NCS for e-Signature of the 4506-T

NCS’ TRV® Services Fulfill Settleware Secure Services’ Mission to Provide

Full Electronic Execution of Mortgage Docs from Origination to Close

EGG HARBOR CITY, NJ | September 24, 2013 – NCS
(National Credit-reporting System, Inc.), a full-service consumer reporting agency specializing in income, identity, and credit intelligence, and Settleware Secure Services, Inc., a pioneer in the implementation of electronic signature technology, have announced a partnership to provide NCS’ best-in- class income verification services to Settleware’s clients and partners.

Settleware customers may now upload 4506-T forms direct to NCS for verification with the IRS through a dedicated TRV Services tab within the Settleware platform.

“We are excited about Settleware’s decision to provide TRV Services to their clients,” said Curtis R. Knuth, executive vice president of NCS. “Settleware is now uniquely positioned to offer a complete loan solution through its wide range of mortgage, real estate, and escrow settlement professionals.

According to Settleware President & CEO C. Richard Triola, “NCS is now a vital part of our network of industry experts and pioneers dedicated to creating a completely digital, paperless transaction. The 4506-T is one document that had held the industry back, but with the acceptance of electronically signed 4506-Ts by the IRS, and soon by the FHA, Settleware and NCS now offer lenders, REALTORS, and their customers a loan process performed entirely online – from origination to closing.”

NCS has been providing IRS Income verification products to the mortgage industry for 20 years. In 1994, the New Jersey-based company was the first IRS IVES (Income Verification Express Service) vendor to offer TRV Services nationwide.

For more than a decade, Newport Beach, CA-based Settleware has been a leader in bringing electronic signing capabilities to the mortgage and real estate industries, focusing on the need to complete the entire real estate and mortgage transaction over the Internet – at anytime from anywhere. Based on patented secured technology, Settleware’s real-time signing solution fully automates contract execution – collapsing to minutes a cumbersome process that often takes days or weeks.

“We look forward to having NCS as our exclusive partner for 4506-T tax return verification,” said Triola. “Their history of product development, as well as customer service, is

something that drew us to the company.”

NCS’ TRV Services are unique in the marketplace, providing concise ability-to-repay insight with customizable reports based on data obtained through the IRS form 4506-T. NCS has an industry-leading IRS acceptance rate of 96% for the 4506-T forms it submits to the governmental agency on behalf its clients.

Two other products NCS offers in addition to the TRV Services are SSA CONFIRM, which validates Social Security numbers through the Social Security Administration, and the Record of Account, which combines the tax return transcript and the updated account transcript into a single report.

Ticker Tape Newsletter _Summer 2013

September 20th, 2013 No comments

Hope everyone is ‘back to normal’ after what  seemed to be the ‘Endless Summer ‘ (I saw the movie 32 times – ok, so I was a movie usher..)

We kicked off our summer with a visit to Virginia Beach and introduced Notary Cam at the VA Land Title Association –  right smack in the middle of a tropical storm..Next stop, Alaska. What started out as a simple acceptance to present at the National Association of Secretaries of State Annual convention in Anchorage turned into an off-the-grid adventure well into the depths of Denali State Park-the short of it,  it’s easy to get lost within 6,000,000 acres! And for all you Yankee/Boston fans, the mosquito’s chanted “who’s your daddy? all week long! Yes, Deet became my new best friend. The good news is that, after knowing full well that I was heading into the lion’s den, our virtual and online remote notary/witness service, NotaryCam, received a surprisingly warm reception. Great bunch of folks that really care about the trust, security and valuable services offered by the professional notary.

As I look back I wonder whatever happened to the lazy days of Summer? We had an extremely busy one so I needed to come out of the ‘woods’ much sooner than I would have preferred. The team back on the mainland did a fabulous job of keeping the wheels greased ..and we welcomed many new e-Sign clients to the team: Prudential St Louis (600 agents), Simple Choice RE, St Louis Association, St Charles, County, Columbus Realtors, Athens (GA) Assoc, Mobile(AL) Assoc, Georgia RE Assoc, Greater Black Hills Assoc of the Dakotas, Southeast Alaska, Northern VA Assoc, CA Apartment Assoc , SF Apartment Assoc., many local Pillar To Post home inspectors across No America, US Global Mail and Hallmark Escrow (one the largest in CA).

We also went live with NotaryCam. (In beta for nearly a year and after nearly a decade after processing our first electronic notarization) Experiencing double digit monthly growth, the stories of how we helped so many are priceless: TOMI Entertainment Magazine interview

  • Charles Schwab client traveling in Germany notarized trust agreement
  • Busy Los Angeles doctor and his also busy CEO wife applaud the NotaryCam convenience
  • Businessman from Washington needing a notarization while traveling in Thailand-closest notary 3 hour train ride away (each way)
  • Minnesota Law firm needed to file affidavit in court less than 24 hours – client in China
  • Soldier in Iraq at risk of losing refinance rate and loan executes power of attorney
  • Hundreds of US  citizens sought out NotaryCam after hours/weekends
  • Chinese government accepts NotaryCam from Indiana couple – 21 days earliest appt at Embassy
  • NotaryCam professional notary prevents fraudulent activity by Florida couple traveling in Russia.

Enjoy your ‘back to school’ mindset and happy year end-only 100 days left!

NJ Allows Electronic Signatures for All Real Estate Contracts and Agreements

September 5th, 2013 No comments

On August 9, 2013 the NJ Legislation approved A3818 that offers clarification to the NJ UETA laws that allows for electronic signatures on all real estate transactions. We applaud and support this legislative effort which now enables real estate professionals and consumers the ease to legally e-Sign and execute documents over the Internet, anytime and from anywhere.

Opening and closing deals digitally has been the focus of Settleware for more than a decade and excited that this amendment now streamlines the entire real estate process and will eliminate most, if not all, of the inherent stress that buyers/sellers endure while processing the largest transaction they are mostly likely ever to make in their lifetime.
