Hello, I love this concept. Makes a lot of sense. With the commonwealth of virginia supporting this, I assume that must mean that all states automatically accept virginia notaries? if so how would an original notarized document be provided to another state for recording? Since this article was published have any other states come on board? This would be very nice in ohio!

Thanks Lillian. As a longtime Realtor we understood that in order to offer value to you and your fellow Realtors we needed to Master the complex EcoSystem and gain buy-in from all Industry particpiants. We're very pleased that the USPTO agrees that our vision was a novel idea as well and we appreciate your continued support!

Truly another monumental feat for THEE industry leader and pioneer in the electronic signing world!
This adds even more credibility as you add yet another patent especially in the Real Estate space. This is the type of protection I want from my brokerage and clients. BRAVO!

Thanks Nisha, Harlan and Miranda for the posts.

Curious Miranda-love to hear your thoughts?

ALL- as e-Signatures become more mainstream I will do better to get the 'news that fit to print' on a more regular basis.. After 12 years it is nice to a spike in adoption..it only took the ATM 17 years to go viral!

I agree about the process of 'proxy' signing but since the eSign Act became legislation in June 2000 "..he approves -he-shall sign it..' is valid with an electronic signature affixed.

I am immune to weather impeding me from keeping my transactions going, or for that matter at the mercy of my clients being able to print, sign and fax since I started using Settleware electronic signing services back in 2008.
In fact my car stalled, and while I was on my way to an appointment recently and I blogged about how my car stalled but my business kept moving forward you can check out the blog/vlog http://www.clickhomesnow.com/Web/AR433434/Blog/post/?post_id=23534

Rain or shine I am empowered and able to serve my clients!

First and foremost, we need to see Obama prosecuted for violating the Constitution with his 'auto-pen'... using it for invitation/anniversary cards is fine, 'robo-signing' a bill into law is not.

Our Founders never intended a bill to be signed 'by proxy' which is what the auto-pen does. They had very sound reasons for this rule and the 10-day grace period for rejection of a bill.

The Constitution clearly states "...If he approve -he- shall sign it..." (not his wife or auto-pen)

So before we prosecute anyone else, let us enforce our Constitution and prosecute Obama.
